Are orientation events mandatory?

No, but we encourage everyone to participate in all events they are comfortable with - or step out of your comfort zone and try something new. However, if you don’t want to participate in an activity, that’s fine too!

Where will I stay during Orientation?

Residence students

Residence students will be moving into their rooms the day before Orientation starts and will be living there throughout Orientation and the rest of the school year.
 

Commuter students
Unfortunately, the residence add-on is unavailable at the moment due to unforeseeable circumstances of the Woodsworth Residence. Students who already purchased, your spot is secured.

What is the residence add-on?

Woodsworth College residence provides accommodations for commuting students if needed. Commuters have the option of requesting to stay overnight in one of the Woodsworth Residence common rooms for the duration of Orientation Week for an additional price. You would move in Monday morning and move out Wednesday.

Do I need to bring anything to orientation?

Other than any allergy medication, or things you bring with you everywhere, there is nothing specific you need to bring to Orientation. On the first day of Orientation during the registration process students will receive an Orientation kit, which will contain useful tools to ensure a successful Orientation. Please visit our schedule to find out more information about specific events and their respective requirements.

Does Woodsworth provide accessibility accommodations?

If you have any accommodations please indicate them when you register. Woodsworth maintains its extensive efforts to accommodate all students with accessibility needs. We ask that you please notify us of these accommodations through register at least 2 weeks prior to orientation to give us sufficient time to prepare properly.

Does Woodsworth College provide financial assistance for orientation tickets?

Yes! Orientation is one of the most unforgettable and helpful experiences in university, and we want everyone to have to opportunity to be a part of it. If you require financial assistance to attend orientation, please contact Woodsworth's Student Life Coordinator Janice Asiimwe (janice.asiimwe@utoronto.ca) as well as reach out to us at (orientation@mywcsa.com).

How do I get to orientation events?

You only need to worry about getting yourself to Woodsworth college every day! Most events will be taking place on campus and we provide transportation from Woodsworth to all off-campus events.

What is WCSA?

WCSA stands for the Woodsworth College Student's Association. WCSA is made up of elected representatives who serve and advocate for Woodsworth college students. All Woodsworth College students are a member of the WCSA. WCSA offers a variety of events throughout the year such as the annual Red Party and the weekly WCSA Wednesdays where you can get some free pancakes (also taking place during orientation week).

I purchased my ticket online, how do I know if my order is received?

After you purchased your ticket, an e-ticket in pdf format and the order details will be sent to the email you provided when you purchase. If you did not receive them after your purchase, please contact orientation@mywcsa.com.

Is the orientation exclusive for residents at Woodsworth Residence?

No. All Woodsworth students are welcome to participate in orientation events. If you live far from campus and want to save time from commuting, you might want to purchase the residence add-on with the tickets. More details can be found on the registration page of the orientation website.
